Why Choose Salt Spring Adventure Co.?

One word: values. We do things right, the way a true eco-tourism company should.
The Salt Spring Adventure Co believes in:

  1. Building a long term relationship with our host communities: The Puka Arku community, on the Napo River, has expressed their willingness to host our groups on their traditional territory and are excited about the new source of eco-tourism revenue. $50.00 from every participant's total cost will be going towards a new school house, teacher salaries and scholarships for local kids.
  2. Supporting family run businesses: By supporting families, rather than larger business enterprises, we know that we are making a difference in people's lives. We stay at locally run accommodations, hire only local guides / staff, buy local produce / food items and support local artisans.
  3. Minimizing our eco-cultural impact: Where ever possible we refrain from activities that may have a lasting impact on the local ecology and culture. We recycle, compost, and lead by example.
  4. Focusing on Education: Whether its learning about tropical rainforest ecology, traditional subsistence hunting practices of indigenous peoples or the process of growing and harvesting Chocolate, we know you will return to your own hunting grounds feeling fulfilled and inspired to learn more.
  5. Keeping it small: larger tour companies have a larger impact on culture and the environment. We will always keep it small. While other companies outsource their operations, we do not. Your guides are the company stakeholders. We will take every measure to ensure your comfort and satisfaction.
